About the Role

• Delivering high‑quality Performing Arts lessons across KS3 and KS4

• Teaching the Eduqas GCSE Performing Arts curriculum, including both practical and theory components

• Running practical workshops, rehearsals and performance‑based sessions

• Encouraging pupils to develop confidence, creativity and resilience through drama, movement and performance

• Using improvisation and creative techniques to support pupils who find it difficult to engage

• Creating a safe, inclusive and supportive environment where students feel comfortable expressing themselves

• Managing behaviour effectively and maintaining a positive, purposeful classroom atmosphere

• Supporting students with exam preparation, coursework and performance assessments

Key Skills & Qualities Needed

• Strong subject knowledge in Performing Arts, Drama or Theatre Studies

• Experience teaching Eduqas or similar GCSE specifications

• Confident behaviour management and the ability to motivate reluctant learners

• Creativity and flexibility in lesson planning and delivery

• Ability to improvise and adapt sessions to meet the needs of different learners

• Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with pupils

• Experience running workshops, rehearsals or performance‑based activities

• QTS or relevant teaching qualification (ECTs welcome)
