History Teacher – KS3/KS4

Are you a passionate History Teacher who can bring the past to life and inspire pupils to think critically about the world around them? Vida Education is working closely with a number of excellent secondary schools across Lancashire and the North West who are seeking dedicated History specialists for long‑term and upcoming September roles.

What the role involves

• Delivering engaging lessons across KS3 and KS4, covering key historical periods and themes

• Bringing history to life through storytelling, debate, enquiry and source analysis

• Creating a positive, inclusive and stimulating learning environment

• Assessing progress, identifying gaps and adapting teaching to support all learners

• Encouraging pupils to think critically, question evidence and form balanced arguments

• Contributing to the wider humanities department and school community

 What skills and qualities we’re looking for

• Strong subject knowledge across British, European and World History

• Ability to make complex historical events accessible and engaging

• Confident classroom management and behaviour‑support strategies

• Creativity in lesson planning, including use of sources, artefacts and discussion

• Excellent communication and the ability to inspire curiosity

• Strong organisational skills and a reflective teaching approach

• QTS or relevant teaching qualification (ECTs welcome)
